In a bold show of commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS, Sam Begira, aspiring Youth Member of Parliament for Buganda region, yesterday led a delegation of youth leaders to Buganda Kingdom Headquarters to support the 70th Kabaka Birthday Run.
The team bought running kits worth UGX 5 million from Buganda Kingdom in support of this year’s cause.
Scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, the Kabaka Birthday Run is being held under the theme: “Men for Good Health to Save the Girl Child”—a message that aligns with His Majesty Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s vision to end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Speaking during the visit, Begira stressed the need for youth engagement and community-driven efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
“This contribution is a symbol of our commitment as youth leaders to support the Kingdom’s vision. We believe that young people must be at the forefront of change, and this run offers an opportunity to take action,” Begira said.
He also called on the public to actively participate in the upcoming run.
“I urge everyone to take part in the Kabaka Birthday Run 2025. Let us run together to promote good health and protect our girls,” he added.

The Kabaka Birthday Run has grown into a powerful health awareness platform, mobilizing thousands annually.
With the involvement of young leaders like Sam Begira, the Kingdom’s efforts continue to gain momentum in achieving a healthier and more informed society.
