“Rock Garden Cafe offers a daily à la carte menu of both Continental and African dishes while Khyber Pass Restaurant focuses on Indian cuisine. There is also a pizzeria and a well-stocked bar. Evening entertainment is offered on selected days,”said a staff we found busy serving stress-free clients.

“Ours is a magical merging of inspiration and architecture to spawn a hotel that is perfectly placed as the starting point for exploring Uganda’s rich history,” she added.

Across the street on Plot 7-9 Nile Avenue, Kampala, Uganda, this historical hotel in a Portuguese Colonial-style building is a 10-minute walk from Kampala train station and 1 km from the Uganda Golf Course.

Warmly decorated, low-key rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Upgraded rooms add living areas, and some have 4-poster beds.
