Visionary tycoon Rajiv Ruparelia who many describe as Uganda’s economy explorer for his lucrative investments in various sectors has bemoaned the fact that only a few Ugandans have tested on profits from animal (pets) business opportunity.

A pet, or companion animal, is an animal kept primarily for a person’s company or entertainment rather than as a working animal, livestock or a laboratory animal. Popular pets are often considered to have attractive appearances, intelligence and relatable personalities.

According to Rajiv, the pet business is among those lucrative opportunities that many tycoons in the world have minted wealth from.

“There are a lot of business opportunities in the animal market but a lot of people don’t know this. Meanwhile, the culture of having pets in Uganda is still growing. We are optimistic that this will grow very quickly especially with us involved in the market,” says Rajiv.

In Uganda so far, there is only one of the kind, pet food manufacturing company, known as Kaya’s Kitchen that creates naturally delicious, wholesome food for cats and dogs believing that pets deserve to eat proper food that’s full of nourishing ingredients.

Kaya’s Kitchen is the brainchild of Naiya Ruparelia Khagram, a wife to Rajiv Ruparelia. The company was established in 2020 from her kitchen at home she started producing secret pet recipes that have been tried, tested and proven to be the best for pets.

“While our four legged friends may not be human, make no mistake, they are part of the family! At Kaya’s Kitchen we recognize the importance a pet can have in a household. Whether you have a large family or small, let us help you create the best family environment for your fur companion(s) and family member.”

Kaya’s Kitchen also supports organizations that make communities a better place to call home through their philanthropy foundation, the Ruparelia Foundation.

“By giving back to the communities where we live and work, Kaya’s Kitchen not only celebrates the power of pets to enrich people’s lives—we live it,” Naiya says.

“Our wide variety of different products are now more available and able to meet the needs and budgets of all pet parents while still delivering best-in-class nutrition. We have always had that vision to offer a unique service to pet owners. We continually maintain the highest standards and quality of natural dog foods, supplies and accessories,” she adds.

Kaya’s Kitchen’s  product lines include the finest quality raw and dry ingredients, an abundant selection of natural treats, unique artisan baked goods and a range of “boutique” toys and general care items for everyday use.

Kaya’s Kitchen, a one of the kind organic, specialty pet food manufacturing company is located at the Explorer’s Hub at Plot 4 Lower Kololo Terrace Road.
