John Nagenda’s Brother Kicks The Bucket In USA

Ugandan North American Association [UNAA] is mourning the death of one of its members, James Nagenda.

UNAA in a statement released Thursday, said James, a brother to former Minister and Senior Presidential Press Advisor on Media Relations, John Nagenda, succumbed to cancer.

“Sad news from our California community. Mr. James Nagenda, long time beloved resident, brother, friend and community elder, lost his long battle with cancer,” the statement said.

It added: “Brother to former Minister John Nagenda, James is survived by his wife and children. Please uphold them in your prayers at this trying time.”

The late owned a newspaper, Collector in Greater Los Angeles Area, according to reports.

His brother John Nagenda is a former cricketer who played one One Day International in the 1975 World Cup for East Africa.

He appeared in one first-class cricket match in England in 1975, and played cricket for Uganda.

As a writer of fiction and poetry in the 1960s, he is regarded as having been one of the pioneers of writing in East Africa.

His book One Man’s Week: Unreserved Wisdom was published in 2019.e.g.e
