President Museveni who is also the Chairperson of National Résistance Movement has summoned all NRM members of parliament to converge and discuss the course of having another speaker following Oulanyah’s demise in the US yesterday.

The constitutional provisions indicate that no business would take place in parliament when the position of the speaker is vacant, therefore for continuity of parliamentary business, the NRM is processing to find the best replacement for Oulanyah who has been described as a man of integrity who loved every one regardless of their political inclination.

In a notice addressed to all NRM legislators by the government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa, the caucus will sit on Thursday 24th March 2022 at Kololo ceremonial grounds on the orders of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The Government Chief Whip who initially interested himself in the Deputy Speaker ship but was convinced by president museveni to leave the sit for Anita Among is tipped to replace Jacob Oulanyah as the next Speaker of parliament.

Anita Among herself who has chaired almost all the sittings ever since last year is also tipped to upgrade and replace her late boss.
