While schools haven’t been full reopened by the government following their closure due to spread of coronavirus, schools and parents are preparing for the next academic year which normally starts late January.

Parents and school administrators are optimistic that the government will reopen the learning centre. Schools, with strict adherence to health guidelines and SOPs, partially reopened to teach and complete the syllabus for candidate classes.

In earlier this year, Kampala Parents School (KPS), one of the leading private primary schools in the country, started conducting interviews for pupils who want to join the school in the first term of the 2022 academic year.

While announcing the admissions through their socials, KPS revealed that despite the reopening for physical classes getting closer in January next year, the school is still adapting to its virtual classes which they say has proved to be a digital transformation of the education sector since the pandemic outbreak.

KPS management further said will continue to work alongside the physical classes in a hybrid learning environment, regardless.

Kampala Parents says admissions are ongoing

In a brief interview with Ms Daphine Kato the Kampala Parents’ School Principal, she revealed to this website how parents were actually very happy with the ongoing online classes via zoom something that has registered a success.

“Our parents are very happy with our online classes program and the monthly cost was reached after consultations with all parties. Whatever propaganda circulating against is being crafted by our competitors,” she noted in a response to our questions.

Daphne further revealed that the school actually enrolled more pupils from other schools for their online program because they couldn’t risk missing out, thus a dead year.

About whether the program served its purpose, Madam Kato intimated that “Our program is successful because we hit our target of completing the syllabus, our children are now doing revisions awaiting official govt reopening of schools due next month” she said.

Parents intending to enrol their children at the school have been advised to call the school and book to enable the school plan and adhere to the SOPs and health guidelines.
