M7,Kagame Agree To Release Jailed Nationals

The third Quadripartite Summit on Uganda-Rwanda, Angola and DR Congo has ended Sunday evening in Luanda, Angola.

The meeting called by Angola President João Lourenço was attended by Félix Tshisekedi (DRC), Paul Kagame (Rwanda) and Yoweri Museveni (Uganda).

It discussed security matters and regional cooperation and reviewed the August 2019 peace deal signed by Museveni and Kagame.

Don Wanyama, Senior Press Secretary to H.E. President Museveni, said five key resolutions arrived at.

“Release of prisoners, no support for “destabilisers”, protect citizens human rights, Ad Hoc team to continue and heads of state to meet again 21/2/2020 at Katuna border.”

The Quadripartite Summit agreed to hold their next meeting at Gatuna border post between Rwanda and Uganda which has been the centre of the crisis between the two states.

The summit was part of the ongoing process to normalise relations between Rwanda and Uganda.
