Mother, 3-year-old Baby Perish In Mubende Fatal Road Accident

A mother and her 3-year-old daughter were Sunday evening crushed to death by a trailer after they fell off from a fast-moving boda-boda at Kirungi Trading Centre in Mubende district.

The Police said a 34-year-old mother only identified as Harriet and her daughter Prisca Namatovu died on the spot when a trailer overrun them at a road hump.

The Katonga region police spokesperson, Rachael Kawala, confirmed the accident saying the rider of the Bajaj motorcycle number UEY 218F was overtaking a trailer number UBJ 704G/UAU 314D but in the process hit a hump.

She explained that the two passengers fell off and were crushed by the incoming trailer, killing them instantly.

Kawala said the police removed the bodies and took them to the mortuary for a post mortem and towed the motorcycle snd trailer to the police station as inquires commenced.
