Museveni Donates Shs 100m To His Village Primary School

As schools financially struggle to reopen after seven months of lockdown, President Yoweri Museveni has donated 100 million Shillings to a primary school in his village of Rushere in Rwakirura district. 

In a press statement issued by the presidential press unit, Museveni on top of giving the money to Rushere Primary School also gave 50 million Shillings to North Ankole Diocese Platinum SACCO and a tipper truck. Another 100 million Shillings was given to the proposed hospital of the diocese.

The government opened schools and tertiary institution for candidate and finalist classes on October 15. But many have remained closed for failure to meet the required Standard Operating Procedures because of lack of funds. 

The Bishop of North Ankole Diocese, Namanya Steven thanked Museveni and the First Lady- the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni for supporting the diocese in its efforts to refurbish the Church-based primary school to meet the required standards. 

Museveni made the donations yesterday while addressing a scientific congregation of North Ankole Diocese in Kiruhura district during which he performed the groundbreaking ceremony of a proposed a community hospital located at the diocese headquarters. 

The first phase of the construction will comprise the Out-Patient wing and administration block at the tune of1.6 billion Shillings. During the ceremony, the president also toured other projects including; Rushere Primary School, Rushere Bishops Girls’ School, a complex guesthouse, dairy farm and other income-generating activities for the diocese.
He said this agriculture development has been boosted by the NRM policy of mass mobilization and patriotism. On politics, Museveni urged Ugandans to avoid internal political fights, bribery, forgery and flouting election processes. 

He added that holding a free and fair election has been important because it breeds sanity in society, adding that good leadership is symbolized by giving people-focused guidance.
