President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has re-affirmed to Ugandans that it’s only National Resistance Movement – NRM that can find solutions to Uganda’s problems.

Museveni says they developed the country’s vision since joining the struggle in the 1981-86 guerilla war, which is still jealously protected.

This was contained in his speech read for him by the Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda during the 33rd Hero’s day celebrations held at Kololo Ceremonial grounds under the theme “An Opportunity to consolidate our Efforts in Securing Uganda”.

The function began with prayers from all religious faiths under the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda –IRCU, and this followed the gun salutes as well as laying wreaths on the graves of the Hero’s buried at Kololo.

The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere in his prayer, he reminded Ugandans never to discard their Values, norms and history for a peaceful nation.

President Yoweri Museveni has this time round not attended the function as he is camping in Northern Uganda and Eastern region to address the problem of cattle rustling that has seen lives lost and herds of animals stolen by cattle rustlers in the recent past.

A total of 81 medals have been given out to outstanding individuals for their exceptional performance in this country and among them is the Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga who received a Golden Jubilee medal for his outstanding contribution and services to the government.

To date, 17,226 medals have been awarded to exemplary nationals and non-nationals who deserve the honor and recognition.
