The Alliance Française in Uganda has announced the upcoming “Bridges & Beats” concert scheduled for March 28, 2026, at Kingdom Kampala as part of celebrations marking Francophonie Month.
Francophonie Month is observed worldwide to celebrate the French language and the diversity of Francophone cultures, with activities culminating in International Francophonie Day on March 20.
The annual celebration brings together more than 300 million French speakers globally and promotes shared values such as peace, democracy, and human rights. This year’s theme, “Activating Your Francophonie,” encourages individuals and communities to engage with French language and culture in their own unique ways.
The “Bridges & Beats” concert, organised by Talent Africa Group in collaboration with Alliance Française, will feature a blend of Afro-soul, acoustic fusion, folk and experimental music. The event aims to showcase the musical heritage of the Francophone world alongside Uganda’s vibrant contemporary music scene.
Organisers say the concert will spotlight collaborations between Ugandan musicians and Francophone artists, creating a cross-cultural musical experience for audiences. The show will also feature traditional Ugandan dance, live music performances, and exhibitions of local crafts and cuisine.
Community participation will form a key part of the celebration, with local schools and universities expected to take part through performances and workshops. Guests will also enjoy a culinary experience through food stalls serving Ugandan dishes, cooking demonstrations, and art displays by Ugandan artists.
Tickets for the concert are available through the Talent Africa ticketing platform. Bronze tickets will cost Shs30,000 at the gate, while VIP silver seats will go for Shs60,000, with discounted early-bird options also available.
The concert lineup includes Ssewa Ssewa, Professor Joewi, Sandar Nansambu, Elijah Kitaka, DJ Valet, DJ Rocky, Aliddeki Brian, Blackqueen, Tracy Melon, Sheillah Salta, Rwanda’s Impudu Cultural Group, and Royal Drums.
The event is sponsored by Talent Africa Group, Alliance Française, Kingdom Kampala, TotalEnergies, and Ruparelia Group.
Organisers say the evening will offer a celebration of music, culture and community while highlighting the rich cultural ties between Francophone countries and Uganda.
