The National Drug Authority has raised a red flag over a sexual arousing herbal drug, Elo-Enjoy.

The drug is manufactured by by Eloi-pharm (U) Ltd, also the manufacturers of Elcof, Elodiastop, and Elocid Triple Action.

NDA, a gov’t agency that promotes and protects public health through effective regulation of human, animal medicines & healthcare products accused the company of rushing products to the market.

Abiaz Rwamwiri the agency’s spokesperson says Elo-Enjoy which is being advertised is not approved by NDA.

“Drugs of potency MUST NOT be promoted to the public without NDA approval even if they have NDA license! Our post-market surveillance had already captured this and our enforcement teams will swing into action soon” Says Rwamwiri.

The National Drug Authority recently reiterated it’s warning against herbal remedies for erectile performance that have flooded the market.

A random survey carried out by the authority discovered that many of these drinks have been adulterated with harmful drugs.

The authority has since also revoked marketing authorization permits for the sale and distribution of such herbal products.

The National Drug and Authority Act Cap 206 section 30 on impure drugs prohibits the sale of any drug which is unwholesome or adulterated or which does not conform to the prescription under which it is supplied.
