NRM Mobilizer Arrested For Stealing MP Kamateneti’s Academic Papers

Police in Ntungamo District have apprehended a one Ashraf Rweyeshera, NRM party mobilizer, for allegedly confiscating academic papers of Woman Member of Parliament Joseline Kamateneti Bata.

It is said that the suspect after taking legislator’s academic papers he started demanding Shs209m as a ransom.

He also held onto her marriage certificate, national identification card, two passports, and land title until she pays him Shs209m which he spent on the her campaign.

He served as Bata’s agent for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries last year and general election early this year.

Bata instead told police she lost the documents after she was nominated for the 2020 NRM primaries at the party headquarters.

Bata said she lost the papers during NRM primaries for nominations.

Later, Rweyeshera used the papers to blackmail her demanding for money.

Rweyeshera who calls her a traitor, says he was incharge of Bata’s security campaign, the reason she trusted him with the documents.(EU).
