Police Net 7 Kampala Wizard Counterfeit Money Dealers

The police working alongside other security agencies, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, apprehended eight individuals involved in the production, distribution, and sale of counterfeit currency.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan, the raid, which targeted shop A-08 at Elite Arcade on Nasser Road, led to the arrest of the ringleader, Mukasa Ronald, along with his accomplices: Mugumya Geey, Brian Abaho, Joel Kagame, Ogadi Ronald, Namuwaya Shadia, Segwayi Rodgers, and Abu Mayanja.

Authorities recovered a significant amount of counterfeit money during the operation, spanning various international currencies.

This included Ugandan shillings, South Sudanese Pounds, US Dollars, Euros, Rwandan Francs, United Kingdom Pounds, and Kuwaiti Dinars.
