The police bomb squad has cordoned off Mulago roundabout better known as Ku Bbiri over fears of a gas cylinder explosion at a nearby washing bay.

Police sealed off the washing bay near Mulago roundabout after reports of an abnormal gas cylinder expansion.

The bomb squad and the fire brigade has been deployed to carefully and safely explode the cylinder at the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said police found a swelling cylinder continued swelling at a welding workshop.

He said the fire brigade department would use water to cool the gas cylinder.
