In a bid to extend their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the community, the management of Fair Trade Premium limited, and Premier Roses Farm Limited donated over 200 blankets among other goodies to farm workers to appreciate them for their good work.

The rose farm was one of the horticulture companies affected by the global Covid-19 lockdown, however, Ruparelia Group is one company known for motivating its staff and customers.

The donation was a charitable gesture aimed at improving the livelihoods of the farm workers and to also establish a cordial relationship between them and the two companies.

It should be noted that the Fair Trade Premium is an extra sum of money paid on top of the minimum Fair Trade price.

The money from the Premium goes into communal funds which are for the workers and farmers. Together they may spend these funds in order to help improve and develop their environmental, social and economic circumstances.

Recently, Ruparelia Group chairman H.E Sudhir Ruparelia donated 10 computers to the African Institute for Investigative Journalism. He also gave out a Shs10 million donation to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, as well as millions they have taken charity to schools, hospitals and slams among other things.

Not forgetting the cash, vehicles, food, and sanitation donations the Ruparelia Group made towards the Covid-19 National taskforce recently.
