President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has once again singled out Kampala Parents School for praise on grooming good leaders.

The president made remarks during the new Cabinet swearing-in at Kololo Airstrip on Monday, June 21, where he commended Kampala Parents School for preparing good leaders and emphasized that the children from the school have proved “bright”.

The President gave an example of KPS alumni, Ms Mutasingwa Diana Nankunda who he appointed State Minister in the Office of the Vice President.

Me. Musevebi said Kampala Parents School, one of the elite schools in Kampala, has raised the bar for education in Uganda and has produced incorruptible leaders.

The President gave an example of one of KPS alumni, Ms Mutasingwa Diana Nankunda who he appointed State Minister in the Office of the Vice President.

Early June, the president said he was handing over the country to the younger generation, who he said were not ‘thieves’.

Among the young leaders he pointed out as incorruptible was Irene Kaggwa, the new executive director of the Uganda Communications Commission.

Mr Museveni, who spared time to speak out on why he selected different ministers, spoke of qualities he saw in his new ministers such as hard work, commitment, discipline and leadership skills.

When he came to the youthful Mutasingwa Diana Nankunda, who is also Buikwe district Woman MP, the President said he was happy with Kampala Parents School babies who he described as “bright”.
“Then there are the Kampala Parents to whom I have also appointed to Cabinet.”

The President explained why he picked on Ms Nankunda as state minister in the Vice President’s office.

He said Kampala Parents raises bright children. Some of President Museveni’s children have attended the school when they were in Primary level.

Before contesting for Buikwe woman MP seat, Nankunda first contested for Njeru Municipality mayor in 2019, but was defeated By Yasin Kyazze.

Mutasingwa is a resident of Bukaya in Njeru division and a daughter of Charles Mutasingwa.

The 31-year-old sat her PLE at Kampala Parents’ School, before joining Greenhill Academy for 0′ and A level.

She obtained a diploma and a degree at Hertfordshire International College, after which she worked as a human resource manager at Afro Freight clearing and forwarding company.

Ms Nankunda will be working with Vice President Jessica Alupo who replaced Mr. Edward Ssekandi as Museveni’s deputy.

The president described the new vice president as “hardworking”.

Ms Alupo has just returned to Parliament after she sat out for five years upon losing her seat in 2016. She had served as minister of education, technology and sports.
