President Museveni Re-appoints Eng. ‘GodfreyTuryahikayo’ As REA Executive Director

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has re-appointed Eng. Godfrey Turyahikayo as the Executive Director of Rural Electrification Agency.

In a letter dated April 11, 2021, addressed to the Energy Minister Hon. Mary Goretti Kitutu, the president made the appointment of Turyahikayo as the new head of REA on a tenure of eighteen months with Eng William Charles Lutwama named as his deputy effective May 1, 2021.

“I therefore direct you to organize the current top management of Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to start preparing handover to the new appointees,” Museveni directed in the letter.

Eng Godfrey Turyahikayo is the husband to the Rubabo county member of parliament Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo in Rukungiri district.

Eng. Turyahikayo is well known to have connected electricity in different parts of Rukungiri, Kanungu, Kabale, Kisoro, and other districts within Uganda during his term of office as the Executive director of Rural electrification Agency.
