Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has paid an emotional tribute to his late son, Rajiv Ruparelia, describing him as a visionary leader whose influence on business and society continues to be felt despite his untimely death.

During an interview with Pan African Pyramid (PAP) founder Andrew Irumba Katusabe at Crane Chambers in Kampala, Dr. Sudhir reflected on Rajiv’s life, saying the young businessman achieved remarkable milestones within just 35 years.
“Rajiv lived a very impactful life,” Dr. Sudhir said, adding that his son’s achievements and contributions would continue to inspire future generations.

As the former Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, Rajiv played a key role in driving the company’s growth and modernization. While he was born into one of Uganda’s best-known business families, he earned recognition for his hands-on leadership and determination to build upon the foundation established by previous generations.

Colleagues and business associates remember him as an innovative executive who embraced technology, modern management practices, and strategic investment while remaining committed to Uganda’s economic development.

Throughout his career, Rajiv worked to strengthen the Group’s operations across sectors including real estate, hospitality, education, and commercial investments. His forward-looking approach helped position the company for continued expansion in a rapidly changing business environment.

Beyond the boardroom, Rajiv was admired for his approachable personality and willingness to mentor young entrepreneurs. Friends say he believed in creating opportunities for others and maintained strong relationships with employees, business partners, and members of the wider community.

He was equally passionate about motorsport, becoming a familiar face in Uganda’s rallying scene, where his competitive spirit and love for adventure earned him widespread admiration.

His death in a road accident in May 2025 was met with an outpouring of grief from across Uganda. Tributes came from government leaders, the private sector, civil society, sports personalities, and ordinary citizens who recognised his contribution to business, philanthropy, and youth empowerment.

Although his passing created a significant void, many believe his vision lives on through the businesses he helped shape, the projects he championed, and the people he inspired.

To honour his memory, Pan African Pyramid has announced a special tribute event scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The gathering is expected to bring together business executives, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and friends to celebrate Rajiv’s achievements and reflect on the values he championed.

Organisers say the event will highlight his contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and community service while encouraging young Africans to pursue excellence and create lasting impact.

For Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and the entire Ruparelia family, the occasion will be an opportunity not only to remember Rajiv’s life but also to celebrate a legacy that continues to influence Uganda’s business landscape.

Though his life ended far too soon, Rajiv Ruparelia remains remembered as a dynamic leader whose commitment to innovation, service, and nation-building left a lasting imprint on Uganda’s corporate community.
