The Managing Director and owner of Nexus Lounge in Najjera, Wakiso District Engineer Ivan Kakooza has passed on.

This was confirmed by Miss Joan Kaitetsi the manager of the popular bar. “Yes, it’s true, Ivan is gone,” She confirmed.

By presstime, the cause of the death was still unclear as we wait for the ministry of health report.

Meanwhile, Kaitetsi also noted that his boss have been down for weeks and when condition retaliated, he was admitted at Mulago Hospital where he passed on in the week hours of Friday October, 9, 2020.

In a period of about ten years, Kakooza grew the bar’s client base from less than 100 a week to thousands of revelers.

At the bar, Kakooza organised music shows where he invited prominent musicians such as Cindy Sanyu to perform for his guests.

He also introduced theme nights on special days such as Valentines and Independence Day that would see him sell alcohol worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Kakooza had also diversified his business, venturing into events management.

He is said to have been deeply hurt by the closure of bars following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March this year.

Rest in peace Ivan.
