A reliable source has revealed that there is a plan to cause chaos in the city in case the opposition, especially the NUP candidate, loses the Kawempe by-election.

Reports indicate that youth gangs have been mobilized across Kawempe Division, intending to incite violence that could spread throughout the city.

Several groups, comprising ruthless gangsters recruited from Natete, Rubaga, Kisenyi, Kasubi, and Nakawa suburbs, have been deployed across various villages with the aim of causing chaos on polling day.

Their roles include provoking confrontations with security forces, attacking agents of the popular NRM candidate, Nambi Faridah, and capturing photos of these clashes to justify their loss by claiming that the election was neither free nor fair.

According to the source, Hon. Balimwezo personally instructed the group, which is being commanded by his trusted operatives from Kamwokya and Nakawa Division. It has also been revealed that the same gangsters plan to stage abductions of their own members and later blame security forces for the disappearances.

NUP considers the Kampala by-election a “do-or-die” battle, as it will set the momentum for the next presidential elections.

There are also reports of plans to expose pre-ticked ballot papers in favor of the NRM candidate in order to claim ballot-stuffing and spark demonstrations.

Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, Hon. Mwanga Kivumbi, and Hon. Balimwezo are reportedly mobilizing NUP supporters to engage in acts of violence.

Eyewitnesses claim that the ballot-stuffing operation was carried out last night at a bar in Komamboga called “Magic,” where several boxes of pre-ticked votes were allegedly dispatched in the early hours of the morning.

On March 11, 2025, while appearing on NBS TV Barometer to discuss the Kawempe North by-election, Hon. Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga, MP for Nakawa East, stated that if the Kawempe North poll is rigged, they will cause unrest with the aim of overthrowing the President and his administration. Meanwhile, Hon. Nsibambi Yusuf pledged that the opposition is prepared to counter vote manipulation by any means necessary.

Opposition leaders argue that if the NRM wins, they will have no justification to protest in case they lose the 2026 elections.
