Serial Killer Of Catholic Priest Fr Kasambula Arrested

Police in Katonga region have arrested Vicent Katumba for allegedly killing Rev.Fr Josephat Kasambula at Lukunyu Village in Gomba District near Mamba landing site on Lake Wamala on Wednesday over land wrangles.

Fr Kasambula aged 68 ,was buried on Thursday  at Lwamata Parish in Kiboga District.

Police spokesperson in Katonga region Lydia Tumushabe, confirmed the prime suspect Katumba’s arrest on Thursday  after getting information from the locals of Lusalira village.

“We have Katumba in our police custody.when the investigations are done , we shall produce him in courts of law to answer charge of murder,” she said.

Joseph Sseyuya, the Kyegonza Sub County chairperson revealed that Katumba was famed in the area for being drugs abuser and a criminal.

Area residents also reported that  Katumba had forcefully occupied the land of Fr Kasambula where he had erected a house and was growing some crops. When  the Clergyman went to the farm to inquire how the suspect assumed ownership of the land, he stabbed him on the back.

It is said that Catholic Priest had owned the farm for over 20 years but had not been visiting for long time.
