Three Perish In Mbarara-Ibanda Nasty Road Accident

Three people have been confirmed dead following a grisly accident involving an MTN Double cabin on Thursday, 23rd December 2021 at Akachunchu-Kagongi Trading Centre along Ibanda-Mbarara highway.

The accident involved a Toyota double cabin (white in colour) registration number UAY 304 A belonging to MTN and a red Bajaj boxer registration number UEF 548L ridden by Abigaba and carrying two passengers (now deceased).

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Chris Abigaba, who was riding the Boda boda, Agustus Ahimbisibwe 17 and Ameria Abaho 6, both boda boda passengers and residents of Kagongi village in Ibanda district.

Kasasira also identified the MTN driver who is currently on the run as Eddy Inavurunguti, 37 years and a resident of Mbarara City.

The bodies of the deceased were by press-time taken to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital mortuary pending a postmortem.
