A vehicle belonging to the Justice Simon Byabakama’s  Electoral Commission has just caught fire along a busy highway.

According to the footage already making rounds on social media, the EC vehicle inscribed with wordings advertising the 2021 general elections is seen abandoned by the roadside as flames raze it down.

A huge flame is also visibly seen evoking off plumes of soot filled smoke into the atmosphere.

The driver of the vehicle does not feature anywhere in the footage and the cause of the fire remains unknown as Ugandans wait for EC to issue a statement about the tragic incident.

Efforts to secure a comment from the Electoral Commission bosses were futile since they couldn’t respond to our calls on their known official contacts.

Similarly less than two weeks back, a parliamentary vehicle offered to the health Ministry burst into flames along the Gulu-Kampala highway with several covid patients on board. No lives were lost and no report to-date has ever been unleashed. This is still a developing story.
