Two Foreign Tourists, Ugandan Killed By Suspected ADF Rebels

Armed assailants, believed to be the ADF rebels, have launched an attack on tourists who were on a trek with Gorillas Wildlife Safari company in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kasese District.

According to reports, the rebels whose number is yet to be known killed two foreign tourists, their driver and set two cars on fire.

The incident occurred between Lake Nyamununka and Kabatooro.

Police confirmed the development, describing the incident as ‘cowardly.
“We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park,” said Police.

“The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt. Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels,” the law enforcement body emphasised.

“We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”

Photos seen by this publication show vehicles burning and lifeless bodies of both foreign nationals and Ugandans lying on the ground.

This comes barely a week when the ADF rebels attacked a truck which was carrying onions in Mpondwe killed two people and set the truck on fire. This Congo-based rebel group have attacked Uganda on several occasions butchered people and planted bombs that have also claimed Ugandans.

The most fatal one being in May when they attacked a school in Mpondwe, killed over 40 and abducted an unknown number of students.
