Uganda Registers 24 Fresh Covid-19 Cases From Truck Drivers

Ministry Of Health has on May 16, 2020 announced 24 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 2,044 samples of truck drivers.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 227 in Uganda.

The new cases were from Elegu border where 3 Ugandans and 2 Kenyans tested positive.

At Mutukula border, 6 Tanzanians and 1 Ugandan tested positive.
At Malaba border post, 12 Kenyans tested positive.

According to the ministry, All 554 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19.

Total samples tested were 2,044. Out of these, 115 samples were tested at Mutukula while 1,375 tested at UVRI.

Uganda have not registered any Covid-19 death with only 63 recoveries.
