UMSC’s Shiekh Anas Dies Of Heart Failure At Mulago Hospital

Sheikh Anas Ssessimba, a member of the College of Sheikh at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Headquarters at old Kampala, has passed away at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

The Office of the Mufti of Uganda confirmed the passing of Sheikh Ssesimba, recognizing him as a respected and long-serving member of the Muslim community.

According to the office of the Mufti, Ssesimba passed away early on October 30, 2024, at Mulago Hospital, where he was being treated for heart failure and diabetes.

Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, expressed profound sorrow, describing Ssesimba as a devoted cleric who dedicated his life to the UMSC.

Sheikh Mulani Ssali, the head of religion at Old Kampala said the Muslim faith has lost a great leader, adding that Sheikh Ssessimba trained them in Islamic studies.

The body will be taken to the UMSC Headquarters for funeral prayers, and the body will be transported to his ancestral home in Nakasoga Village, Kalisizo, Kyotera District, for burial at 4:00 PM.(Nexus)
