Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom authorities have totally rejected the deployment of Mr Alex Mwine in Hoima as their District Police commander.

This afternoon, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Owek Andrew Byakutaga while addressing media said the Kingdom rejects the deployment of Mr Mwine who has a record of questionable discipline.

“We have rejected the transfer of Mr Alex Mwine to Hoima which is the official seat of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom. We have received reports about his disciplinary record and we have found it wanting”

Mr Mwine who was transferred from Mityana ordered the teargasing of Buganda’s Mbogo clan meeting which also included the retired Bishop of Masaka and other senior religious leaders.

The above actions caused widespread condemnation from members of the public including government leaders which prompted Police to make a public apology to the Kingdom and officially to Buganda PM.

It’s reported that President Museveni ordered the IGP to discipline his officers immediately.

The Prime Minister informed the media that he has written to the IGP requesting him to rescind the transfer of Mr Mwine to Hoima and instead deploy befitting disciplined officers.
