Unknown assailants have stabbed to death Sharif Alon, a primary five pupil of Arua Parents Primary school in Arua city. His relatives say the minor met his death at the hands of the assailants on Sunday night.

The deceased’s body was found lying along Mududu road in Enyau cell, Kenya ward in Arua central division, a few meters from his parent’s home with deep cuts on the stomach. Sharif’s father, Muhammed Nubi, says that the minor was last seen at around 11:00pm revising his books inside the house.

According to Muhammed, he woke up on Monday morning to the news of the death of his son. Rashid Kayinga, the Enyau cell LCI chairperson in Kenya ward, says that he informed the police about the incident, but they took a long time to arrive prompting the deceased’s relatives to take his body for burial.

He says the deceased has no criminal records. Summary Ejaga, the LC2 chairperson of Kenya ward says that he was also informed about the incident through phone call.

Yunes Andresi, the head teacher of Arua Parents Primary school has described the deceased as a disciplined child.

Josephine Angucia, the West Nile region police spokesperson says police have started following up on the matter. She has called on the members of the public to volunteer information leading to the arrest of the assailants.
