Former Independent Lord Mayor Aspirant, Democratic Party National Mobilizer and Singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, has publicly crossed back to the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The popular pop star musician was received by Museveni’s brother Michael Nuwagira alias Toyota over the weekend.

Chameleone said he has never left the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and distanced himself from the National Unity Platform (NUP) led by Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

“My greatest witness can be Mr. Toyota, my friend, I am still your family, I have never left NRM. If you doubt that, put up your cameras and record me. I am still NRM,” Chameleone said.

The singer’s speech must have moved Toyota who snatched him off the stage, held his hand, and led him to where his car, a Range Rover 2021 model was parked.

Earlier this year during the Elections campaigns, Chameleone was working closely with the leaders at NUP with hope they would endorse his candidature for the position of Kampala Lord Mayor.

However, NUP fronted Nabilah Naggayi Sempala who was the second runner up after being defeated by the incumbent Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago with a huge amount of votes.
