VP Alupo Arrives in Addis Ababa To Represent President Museveni at 37th AU Summit

Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of Uganda, has arrived in Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

Her purpose is to stand in for President Yoweri Museveni at the Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council and the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Alupo arrived today at Bole International Airport and was happily received by H.E. Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye, the  Minister for Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia, Gen. Abubaker Jeje Odongo, Uganda’s Minister for Foreign Affairs,  Rebecca Amuge Otengo, Uganda’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and other dignitaries.

MEETING TIMELINES
The meetings are scheduled to take place as follows:
14 – 15 February 2024: 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Ministerial Session).

Between 17-18 February 2024, will be the 37th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly (Heads of State and Government Session).

The Summit is running under the theme: ‘Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa’.
