4 NUP Supporters Arrested In Kayunga For Misuse Of Ambulance

Police in Kayunga has intercepted  Ambulance reg No UBA 564P and arrested four supporters of National Unity Platform’NUP’ who were aboard.

According Ssezibwa region police spokesperson ASP Butoto Hellen revealed that incident happened after police  received information that the said vehicle,was moving at break neck speed from Kampala to Kayunga with no patients. Efforts to have it stopped at various checkpoints were futile as the driver adamantly refused to stop,and/or adhere to traffic calls.

“We intercepted the Ambulance at Ntenjeru trading centre, along Kayunga-Bbaale road in Kayunga Town Council. The driver fled from the scene, after he was found transporting political passengers”,She said.

The four suspects are detained at CPS Kayunga, pending other investigations.

They have been charged with various offenses including mis-use of a vehicle.

Kayunga LC V race has attracted six candidates including Andrew Muwonge of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party, Harriet Nakwede of the National Unity Platform-NUP, Anthony Waddimba from the Democratic Party-DP, and independent candidates; Boniface Bandikubi, Majid Nyanzi and Jamil Kamoga. They are all seeking to replace Feffeka Serubogo, who died just months after taking office.
