Nalubega Aidah Bukenya, a prominent Ugandan actress, entrepreneur, and digital content creator, has become a recognizable figure in the East African entertainment industry. Her journey, which began in the rural area of Mpenja in Gomba District, is cited as an example of the rising opportunities for talent from outside Uganda’s major urban centers.

Early Life and Education

According to multiple interviews and verified biographical sources, Bukenya was born on February 2, 1996, in Mpenja in Gomba District. She spent her early years there before relocating to Kampala for higher education. This transition from a rural district to the capital city is a recurring theme in narratives about her early career development.

Public records indicate she pursued formal training in the arts, earning a diploma in Dramatic Arts from the Kampala International Theatre School. She also holds a certificate in Cosmetic Science from Makerere University, blending her artistic interests with entrepreneurial ambitions.

Rise to Prominence Bukenya’s initial rise to public recognition was facilitated through social media, particularly the video-sharing platform TikTok. Operating under the username @aidahnalubega1, she gained a substantial following by creating content focused on comedy, beauty, and relatable everyday scenarios. Her success on the platform established a broad fanbase prior to her major film debut.

Her transition to mainstream acting came with a supporting role in the 2023 film “The Salon,” which received recognition at the Uganda Cinema Awards. This was followed by her breakout leading role in the 2024 Netflix original production “Kampala Beauty,” which brought her international visibility.

She is also known for her performance in the Aromatic Entertainment drama “Best Friend” (2025), a role that further cemented her reputation for portraying strong, relatable Ugandan women.

Entrepreneurship and Public Persona

Beyond acting, Bukenya is the founder and CEO of ABC Cosmetix, a beauty brand that focuses on products for African skin tones. The brand’s “Glow & Empower” initiative, which provides training for aspiring beauticians, is frequently mentioned in business and lifestyle publications.

Her public persona integrates her careers in entertainment and business, often using her social media platforms to promote her brand and discuss her projects.

Recognition and Future Projects

Nalubega Aidah Bukenya’s work has been noted by several entertainment and business outlets in Uganda. Her profile meets the general notability guidelines for public figures due to her significant roles in nationally and internationally distributed films, her successful business venture, and her substantial digital footprint.

Industry reports suggest she has several projects in development, including further expansion of ABC Cosmetix and new film roles slated for 2026.
