Namanve Accident: Knocked Traffic Officer Ayesigye Passes On

Police are hunting for a motorist who knocked down a traffic officer on duty implementing President Yoweri Museveni’s directives on Covid-19 lockdown.

The Officer NO. 59242 PC Ayesigye Innocent was knocked by motor vehicle registration number UAS 597U RAV4 which left him with serious body injuries.

The incident happened on Sunday, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango.

The driver of motor knocked the officer at Namanve along Kampala-Jinja highway at 1920 hours and refused to stop.

“Report yourself to the nearest Police Station,” police urged the suspect.

According to Onyango, the victim of the accident passed on at Rubaga Hospital on Tuesday morning.

“We are still looking for the Driver of car number UAS 597U,” he said.
