Police have on Sunday June 21 arrested over 30 people around Nansana over defying the Covid-19 presidential directives.

The arrest followed an operation in and around Makutano Hotel where police found the sauna functional, the bar open and business as usual.

According to Patrick Onyango, 30 people were arrested and detained at Nansana Police Station.

On March 30, 2020, President Museveni declared that gatherings of more than five people are prohibited.

“All other movements and public gatherings should stop. Let people stay indoors in their homes except for the cargo transporters,” cautioned Museveni.

The Ministry of Health on Sunday said Uganda’s Covid-19 cases had risen to 770 after seven more people tested positive for the virus.
