UWA Backs Africa Kwetu Fuel Economy Tour 2020

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has authorized the organisers of the Africa Kwetu Fuel Economy Tour in the western districts of Uganda due November 20-22, 2020 ago ahead.

Uganda Wildlife Authority official Steven Masaba confirmed the development at a press briefing held on Tuesday 17, 2020 at Hotel Triangle on Buganda Road in Kampala.

“We shall support you because of your vision to promote tourism and safety,” Masaba said.

Meanwhile all the forty seven drivers that registered for the event shall on Thursday be subjected to COVID-19 tests after during scrutineering at Total Nakawa before being confirmed.

New partners that included Uganda Wildlife authority, Hotel Triangle, Ministry of Health, Nyaika Hotel and Rosefoam were unveiled.

The 950km adventure tour organized by United Motorsport Club (UMOSPOC) and Enduro Uganda is meant to promote safety on the roads, tourism and environment protection in the country.

On day one cover 340kms from Kampala to Kapeeka, Bukomero, Kabwoya Game Reserve and Hoima where they will plant Bamboo trees the next morning.

On day two, they will cover 230kms from Hoima through Kagadi, Semuliki National Game Park and Sempaya Hot springs in Bundibugyo before spending a night in Fort Portal.

They will then finalise the tour through Kasese, Kazinga Channel, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishaka Escapements in Bushenyi and end the tour in Mbarara for the prize giving.
