Police alongside sister security agencies on Sunday night arrested the advance team that was supposed to chart Bobi Wine’s way to Western Uganda.

The forces led by the OC of Kyegegwa District Police Station raided AMAC Suites Hotel and arrested members of Bobi Wine ‘s Presidential Campaign Advance Team that travelled there Sunday evening to organize for his campaign rally today, Monday morning.

Akandonda Warren, Jacob Mwesigwa, Abbey Mutebi and Hassan were dragged out of their rooms into the darkness.

The military broke into room by room to arrest the rest of the team.

“It’s not known what crimes these colleagues are being accused of committing,” National Unity Platform (NUP) said in a social media statement.

“We thank God for yet another opportunity to come together and pray for our nation.”

Speaking earlier, Bobi Wine said due to the rude interruption recently, he was unable to speak to people in 15 districts of Luuka, Buyende, Kamuli, Mpigi, Kalungu, Masaka, Lyantonde, Kiruhura, Mbarara, Isingiro, Ntungamo and Rukungiri.

“We also were earlier blocked from accessing Sironko, Kitgum and Bugiri.”

“As we arrange to come to those districts physically, I will be speaking to the people of Uganda in general and those districts,
I request all our leaders and agents in those areas to provide means that will enable our people to listen in or watch the communication.”(EU)
