Kutesa Responds To US Congress, Denies Political Persecution In Uganda

Foreign minister Hon. Sam Kutesa has responded to the US Committee on Foreign Affairs in regard to allegations of repression in Uganda.

Committee Chairman and Congressman Elliot Engel wrote to the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accusing President Museveni of killing opposition supporters in the recent riots and suppression opposition presidential candidates.

Kutesa’s letter tackles the various accusations ranging from curtailing media, arrests and detentions, banning of rallies and alleged suppression of opposition.
