M7 Hosts Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Over Tigray Crisis

President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday August 29 met and held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed Ali over the ongoing war and refugees influx in Tigray region.

The two leaders discussed various issues and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest.

“The meeting with HE Abiya Ahmed ended fruitfully. We agreed to ‘walk together’ on matters regarding strengthening cooperation in bilateral, regional, and international issues of common interest,” President Museveni wrote on Twitter aftef the meeting.

Ethiopia and Uganda have been cooperating in various peace processes in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Ethiopian Minister – Head of Prosperity Party Main Office Binalf Anduwalem, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia H.E Redwan Hussain and H.E Alemtsehay Meseret, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary to the Republic of Uganda.

The meeting was also attended by Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen. Jeje Odongo and Uganda’s High Commissioner to
Addis Ababa Rebecca Amuge Otengo.
