Five suspected Chinese assassins were on Monday Night nabbed security in Kampala city on allegations of plotting  to finish off a Chinese Businessman operating in Uganda.

Information obtained  from our security sources reveals that Chen Jianwen, Chen Jiantinge whose passport number is 31453985, Chen Shuoin (passport number E02201877), Chen Hao (passport number E94824912), Lin Jinfen (passport number E59649448) entered the country early this month on tourist visa, but on arrival at the airport, they moved with an Airport Taxi straight to Calvin Li Kang Yuan factory which is on Zirobwe road.

They forced themselves through an army security at the facility and attacked him, tried to strangle him, but security guarding the premises of Li Kang managed to rescue the victim.

It is reported that suspects were tracked down and arrested on charges of attempted murder.

They were detained at Central Police Station, Kampala.

Later their  file was sent to DPP for review and suspects have been charged with threatening violence which annoyed the investigative officers.

They were taken to Buganda Road court on Tuesday and charged at 4:30pm. The five were Remanded up to Monday 1st November 2021.

Surprisingly at 6:00pm, the five were returned to court and applied for bail though the Magistrate maintained that a ruling will be delivered on Thursday.

The accused were instead being taken to Kitalya prisons. Police returned them to CPS for preferential treatment.

Chinese were heard chasing the lawyers accusing them for taking a lot of financial facilitation and promises they failed to get them bail.

On Tuesday court corridors were filled with sureties who did not have any idea on the clients they were going to stand for.

Our team followed up on Wednesday and established that the same Sureties have been mobilized and are ready to appear in court.

According to our sources, State Prosecutors will find it easy to ask disprove these hired teams with simple questions considering the fact that the accused are visitors on mission whose spelling of names is in itself difficult.

This, however comes at a time when Uganda is debating on whether or not capital offenders should be granted bail.
