Hoima Police have launched investigations under which a 70-year-old businessman man died after an alleged sex romp with a woman at one of the hotels in the city.

According to Julius Hakiza, the police spokesperson of the Albertine region, the deceased identified as Joshua Tibagwa who was a businessman and landlord hailing from Katanga village Bugambe sub-county Kikuube district was found lying helpless in his booked room at Crown Hotel in Kijungu Hoima City on Tuesday.

Reports suggest that Tebagwa who was a frequent client at the hotel booked a room at around 2 am when he had come for pleasure with a woman believed to be his lover.

“Tibagwa booked room number 105 at Crown Hotel and checked in with another person whose identity is yet to be established, Hakiza says.

The manager of Crown Hotel Hoima, Collins Aheebwa became suspicious when Tibagwa stayed in the room beyond the usual time and opted to check on the client through the window. He did not get any response from the client.

Having taken a long time to get out, Aheebwa became suspicious because the client would book in for between 30 minutes and 1 hour with different ladies.

The police say that, according to the manager, Tibagwa has been a regular client who would book on phone and use their facilities. Eyewitnesses say that for the night, Tibagwa was accompanied by a lady.

The manager then decided to go and check up on the client through a window but no response could be heard and the police was informed.

Police on arrival at the scene said that the deceased could have fainted while having sex pleasure with the yet to be identified woman.

“His body was found lifeless in the bed lying on its back, facing on the left while halfway covered. His phone was missing and is suspected to have been taken by the woman he was with,” Police said.

Police added that they will review the CCTV footage at the hotel to track down the woman who was with the deceased in the hotel.

“The police will use the CCTV cameras to establish the lady with whom Tibagwa entered the room as investigations continue.”

In 2014, Tibagwa is said to have evicted over 300 people from his land in Rwamutonga Village Bugambe Sub-County Kikuube District to pave way for the construction of the Oil Waste Management Plant by McAlester Uganda Limited.

The evicted residents pitched camp on a piece of land given to them by a well-wisher in the same village.
