The Parliament of the Republic of Uganda is set to resume it’s business despite the terror bomb blast threats in the country.

In a letter dated 17th November 2021, Adolf Mwesige Kasaija the clerk to Parliament revealed that the August House’s preliminary sittings will resume on Thursday 18th November 2021 starting from 2:00pm.

An internal memo to all members of Parliament

The house was on Tuesday 16th November 2021 suspended following twin bombs that rocked the city center leaving 6 people comfirmed dead and many others critically injured.

Since then, Islamic state has come out to claim responsibility of the blasts in city.

However, the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the country’s security detectives have insisted that the bombs are domestic and are attributed to the Eastern DRC based Allied Democratic Forces ADF.

In a letter dated 16th November 2021 directed to all members Parliament and the staff, Adolf Mwesige Kasaija the clerk to Parliament advised them not proceed to precincts of Parliament stressing that the security forces are working hard to restore order around the house.
