Wanted: MP Otukol Runs Into Hiding After Assaulting Journalist

Pallisa County MP Hon. Sam Otukol is on the run after assaulting Bunya Emmanuel.

The incident happened at Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo on November 19th 2021 where the lawmaker was appearing on charges of theft and conspiracy to defraud over Shs1.8bn in four districts.

The MP, who accused Bunya of taking pictures of him, chased the journalist and beat him up.

Following the incident, CID summoned Otukol on the alleged assault of a journalist who was covering the proceedings.

State House Anti-Corruption Unit in liaison with police arraigned Hon. Sam Otukol’s co-accused, Habajja Fred and Osire Hezekiah before Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

They were charged with assault and causing body harm, and remanded to Kitalya Prison until 2/12/2021.
