Vice President Kiwanuka Ssekandi is in Maputo, Mozambique where he is slated to represent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the swearing in ceremony of President Filipe Nyusi who emerged victorious in last October’s Presidential elections.
The Vice President who left Monday morning was received by Mr. Damasco Mathe, Director of International Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique.
A guard of honour mounted by officers and men of the armed forces of Mozambique also received the Vice President.
The swearing ceremony will be witnessed by a number of heads of state and representatives of government from around the world.
President Filipe Nyusi is the fourth President of Mozambique and his FRELIMO Party won a second term in office after a landslide victory garnering 73% of the total votes during the elections held on 15th October 2019.
