The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Tumusime Katsigazi has  paid a visit to the Central Police Station in Kampala where he was taken through the Security installations in place like the CCTV Monitoring centre, and the building which was affected by the recent twin bombings.

To this , the DIGP directed the Director Logistics and Engineering to henceforth replace the windows and do other minor repairs due to budgetary constraints awaiting for full renovation of the whole building.

He later held a meeting with all the commanders at Kampala Metropolitan Headquarters headed by SCP Tanui Steven. The D/IGP also met with the team at Central Police Station and discussed maters of Management.

He reiterated the need for police in general to improve its image through Community Police, fighting corruption that comes in form of demanding money for bond in order to release suspects.

The officers were also warned against negligence of duty and to always respond to emergencies whenever they are called upon by members of the communities they serve .

The D/IGP also noted that there is increase in vandalism of Police CCTV Cables and Cameras . This hinders Police service delivery in the process. He also promised to work and improve on the welfare of officers at CPS and Police in general.
