Kira Road: Mother Arrested For Assaulting 10 Year Old Son Over Shs 5000

Following the viral video that shows a woman assaulting a child, the police at Kira Road Police Station arrested Deborah Apolot for allegedly assaulting her 10-year-old son Mark Omiat.

The arrest was carried out on Monday at about 9pm.

According to deputy Kampala metropolitan spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that the suspect alleges that yesterday in the morning she gave Shs5,000 to her child to buy grocery at the shop.

She said the boy didn’t return at home.

She said , she looked for the child and found him before taking him home.

She admitted beating her son as a punishment for misbehaviour.

The incident was captured on camera by the neighbours, who later informed the police.

The victim sustained serious injuries and he is receiving treatment.

The victim’s mother will be charged with child torture .
