Birungi and Nabasa at the recent UPDF function

Commander in chief of the armed forces Gen.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has reshuffled the commander of Special Forces ‘SFC’ Command Maj Gen Don Nabasa and replaced him with Maj.Gen James Birungi.

SFC is an elite army that guards the president and his special interest group of people. The incoming commander Maj Gen Birungi has been the Uganda People’s Defence Air Force (UPDAF) chief of Staff.

President Museveni with immediate effect has sent Gen Nabasa to attend a new course in Strategic management at the National Defence College.

Our sources at State house Entebbe have intimated to us that Gen.Yoweri Museveni recently received some intelligence that some terror groups were intending to attack Uganda. A deadly mission he thought hard that it could be deterred by new tactics of an experienced officer like Afande Birungi .

UPDF spokesperson, Brig Richard Karemire while responding to our questions, confirmed the reshuffle.

‘’It’s true there has been some changes on the other side of SFC but such changes are normal because as a professional army we have a lot of competent commanders who can  defend this nation  at all times ‘he said.

Afande Don Nabasa in January 2017 replaced Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is currently the senior presidential advisor for special operations.
