China To Build A Specialised Military Hospital-Min.Mwesige

Min.Mwesige and delegation from China

The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Hon Adolf Mwesige has hosted a delegation from China’s Sinopharm International Corporation at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters in Kampala.

The visiting Chinese delegation was led by the Vice President of Sinopharm International Mr. Yan Bing to discuss ways of working with the ministry to have equipment in the referral hospital currently under construction.

Mr. Bing applauded the efforts of Government of Uganda in developing infrastructure and human resource , noting that this is the only sure way of improving the quality of life for most citizens.

Hon Mwesige in his remarks commended the existing close relationship between Uganda and China , saying such has led to the socio-economic transformation of most parts of Ugandans.
He gave a green light to Sinopharm International to supply the required medical equipments to the Military Referral Hospital in Mbuya, based on the firm’s earlier works at Mulago hospital where it installed a CIT-Scan.

The Defence and Veteran Affairs Minister added that constructing and furnishing the Referral Hospital will cut costs of specialised treating of Officers, Militants, spouses and their children, abroad.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Mrs. Rosette Byengoma, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Wilson Mbadi and the UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Lt Gen Joseph Musanyufu, among others.
