UPDF, Egypt Army Start Commercialized Marijuana Farming

The Minister of State for Agriculture Hon Christopher Kibazanga has commissioned a Joint Model Farm at NEC FARM Katonga. The model farm will be supervised and Implemented by National Enterprises Corporation (NEC), the UPDF business arm.

Phase two of the project will involve infrastructure development at the farm such as: offices, residences, feedlots, stores and many other preliminaries that will commence mid December 2019.

The commissioning ceremony was attended , among others, by the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uganda H.E Mohammed Tarek Salam and Embassy Staff, NEC Managing Director Lt Gen James Mugira,the Chairman NEC Board of Directors Gen Joram Mugume, the Chairman of NEC Farm Katonga, Sub Board Lt Gen Charles Otema; and Senior Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture.
