Jubilations As Former IGP Gen Kayihura Is Acquitted By Court Martial

Following the acquittal of all charges from former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura at Court Martial in Kampala, residents of Kisoro Town were filled with joy and flocked the streets cheering and praising President Museveni for freeing their son.

Gen.Kayihura was battling charges of failure to safeguard war materials and aiding and abetting the kidnapping of Rwandan refugees.

Hakizimana Martin, the Kisoro District Secretary for Social Services, attests that the people of Kisoro now wear smiles etched with relief.

He said that Gen. Kayihura’s freedom is a well-deserved reward for his devoted service to the armed forces.
